Overview

This is an intensive one credit, resiliency enhancement program designed for those caring for seriously ill, injured or traumatized/troubled people. This popular course was created as a combination of a didactic and experiential learning process. There are no necessary prerequisites.

Participants will study Compassion Fatigue & Burnout warning signs and resiliency strategies. Feeling worn out by the demands of your work? TI-107 Brief Compassion Fatigue Resiliency Program

Participants will learn about the impact of Compassion Fatigue, Secondary Traumatic Stress, Burnout and other related stress responses on care providers in this Brief Compassion Fatigue Resiliency Program. Addressed in this brief overview are self-reflection exercises, links to Compassion Fatigue self-evaluation protocols and resiliency constructing strategies.

  • Attain an Overview of Compassion Fatigue, Secondary Traumatic Stress, Burnout & Stress reaction
  • Study relevant literature in the area of Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Traumatization, Burnout & Secondary Trauma Response
  • Uncover self-evaluation materials used for self-reflection or referral to others
  • Determine Compassion Fatigue reactions and similar difficulties
  • Distinguish the main approaches and techniques for addressing Compassion Fatigue and similar stressors
  • Study the proposed and theoretical “active ingredients” to efficient Compassion Fatigue care
  • Review effective instruments for self-care

Course evaluation:

It is not necessary for participants to complete any quizzes or examinations for this course. A Certificate of Completion for the program will be distributed at the end of the course.
