PreRequisites for Trauma Training & Compassion Fatigue Resiliency Courses

CLINICAL TRAUMATOLOGIST
Designed for mental health care professionals who have a minimum of a Master’s degree completed or in progress, related to a clinical or counselling field OR a minimum of 4-years with a counselling mandate along with regular supervision.

COMMUNITY & WORKPLACE TRAUMATOLOGIST
No special requirements or degrees are necessary for this entry-level post-trauma support, non-counselling training stream.  Designed for professionals, paraprofessionals, and volunteers who work with trauma survivors or trauma-related matters.
 
COMPASSION FATIGUE RESILIENCY & RECOVERY – EDUCATOR (107)
This is an entry-level program and no prerequisites are required to receive the Compassion Fatigue Educator designation other than successful course completion.
 
COMPASSION FATIGUE SPECIALIST – THERAPIST (207)
This course is for mental health care professionals with a minimum of a Master’s degree (or an M.A. in progress), or 4-years of counselling work with on-going supervision.

EARLY INTERVENTION FIELD TRAUMATOLOGIST (1001)
This is an entry-level program and no prerequisites are required to receive Field Trauma designation other than successful course completion. First responders (e.g., fire/rescue, emergency medical services, law enforcement, etc.) as well as mental health and health care professionals will benefit from Field Trauma training.

JUSTICE SYSTEM TRAUMA CERTIFICATE
This is an entry-level program and no prerequisites are required to receive Justice System Trauma Certificate designation other than successful course completion. The course is designed to train justice workers in Trauma Informed Care approaches.  Statistics indicate that large numbers of those incarcerated for a variety of crimes have a trauma history.  Recognizing this phenomenon and knowing how to work with those in facilities is the focus of this certificate stream. 
 
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING AFTER TRAUMA
This is an entry-level program and no prerequisites are required to receive Motivational Interviewing after Trauma designation other than successful course completion.  However, this program would be of benefit to a wide variety of providers including those in counseling/clinical fields, school workers, justice system workers, First responders (e.g., fire/rescue, emergency medical services, law enforcement, etc.) as well as mental health and health care professionals will benefit from Field Trauma training.
 
SCHOOL TRAUMA CERTIFICATE
This is an entry-level program and no prerequisites are required to receive School Trauma designation other than successful course completion. School teachers, administrators, support staff and management would benefit from this comprehensive school response program.
 
TRAUMA HEALING COURSES
This program is for members of the community at large who are interested in self-care and post-trauma approaches that they can use to work-through their own trauma history.
